Queues at the check-in desks, especially in peak periods, along with queues at the security controls and boarding gates can be long so arrive at the airport in plenty of time for your flight.
Passengers should keep their luggage with them at all times before check-in and hand luggage for the entire pre-flight time. For any passenger noting any suspicious packages in the airport should alert Airport staff immediately. |

For entry into the Departure Lounge all passengers will be security checked. Firstly passports and boarding passes will be inspected.
Then passengers will have to walk through an x-ray machine and their hand luggage, at the same time, will pass through another x-ray machine.
Any metallic items like keys, coins, and belt buckles need to pass through the x-ray machine separately.
For wheelchair bound passengers a hand search will be conducted.
The x-ray machines are
safe for pregnant women but they can also request a hand search for extra peace of mind.
Sometimes passengers are selected at random for hand searches as an extra precautionary measure as part of Luton security. |
